Why use Fireproof Safes Instead of Media Safes?

Did you know that data media starts to disintegrate after only about 125 degrees of indirect heat, whereas paper can withstand 350 degrees?

The first time I saw media safes built for data media I couldn't believe how much extra insulation was required versus a fire safe for documents only (about 50% more). The cost of fireproof safes versus the cost of replacing lost data in media safes is unbelievably low. And the peace of mind that comes with them is really worthwhile
